Hollywood North: we'd like to keep it that way
Vancouver could very well be the most picturesque city in the world - but if you're a unionized Hollywood film worker, your days of using our lovely Pacific Metropolis as a backdrop for costumed wonders beating the crap out of each other may be numbered.
Hollywood unions are investigating whether tax breaks offered to lure TV and film projects north of the border are illegal.
I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure tax breaks that help foreign companies do business in a country aren't illegal. Smart, maybe, but not criminally so.
Here's a thought, American protectionist morons: pick an industry to protect where you don't already have 99.9999999999 per cent market share.
Greedy Hollywood bullies.
