CityView: Bomb Hits Vancouver

Published by at 3:18 pm under Uncategorized

A bombing at a West Broadway taco restaurant that also destroyed a neighboring Starbucks has left Vancouver residents shaken (CBC News). I know I’m wondering what the heck is happening in our city. It seemed for a while that there were gang shootings every couple of days, and now this bombing takes the violence in Vancouver to a whole other level.

I stopped in at that Starbucks not even a month ago. This is just messed up. Of course, the big question is why the hell anyone would want to do this?

I’ve stopped asking questions like that 😉

I thought it was funny that my class the morning after had a lot of no-shows. We couldn’t figure out if it was because of the absence of a coffee fix or the general chaos on Broadway.

Because they truly hate tacos, Narvey, obviously. Sheesh, you’re just a dupe of the quesadilla interests, arentcha?

Looks like this was a botched arson attempt by an owner looking to collect insurance. The co-owner of the Taco restaurant which was targeted has reportedly committed suicide this weekend.

I don’t think Vancouver is going to be the scene of random bombings. The drug trade-related shootings are another matter, however.

Heres your problem, there is and always has been a major war being fought over the massive drug trade in Canada. With Crack cocaine use equal or worse then the “crack epidemic” that plagued the U.S. in the late 80’s early 90″s this has made many criminal enterprises more bold as the war for drug turf worsens.

The police have knowledge of this, they must fro people suck as myself to have knowledge. Their problem is they don’t acknowledge their information for fear of exposing how much they really know about these criminals therby endangering millions of hard working Canadians. Granted I have a very biased opion of our laew officers seeing how far they will go to secure convictions, but they must make knowledge like what to look for in organized crime groups to make the common everyday citizen more wary. Their are upwards of at least 10 major criminal groups in operation in Canada, among them Chinese Triads, Hells Angels and Jamaican Posses. The more info the police and law enforcement decide to with hold from Canadians means that many more people will die.
