My fellow Canadians, I hope you have enjoyed celebrating our great nation’s birthday. I spent much of the day at Canada Place at Vancouver’s scenic waterfront area, catching live music, great company and some very flexible contortionists.

54/40 gave a great performance of all their best tunes (I’d forgotten how many stellar radio hits they had under their belt — enough to warrant an hour and a half gig, as it turned out). And as an added bonus, my family and I bumped into Third Tuesday star Monica Hamburg at swing king of Canada Dal Richards‘ gig. Very cool.
