Globe & Post: How the American Electoral System Works
I’ve got a lot of admiration for our American cousins’ democratic system, which seemed to work reasonably well until the last couple of elections (hanging chads, electoral college voting…). But it is a bit more complicated than the system we have in the Great White North. I found a great YouTube video that explains their system pretty well for us folks who never had to take American Civics 101. Enjoy.
I’m really, REALLY hoping the voting results for tomorrow’s election will be so monumentally clear that we’ll skip the contentious 50/50 split of the past couple of contests. Go, Obama.
