MyLife: You, Me and the Bourgeoisie

Published by at 2:33 pm under MyLife

I was so enamored with the catchy tune from the latest iPhone commercials that I finally got around to checking out what the song is about.

The Submarines song lyrics for “You, Me and the Bourgeoisie” struck a chord with me, since I’m so often astonished at my good fortune at living with the love of my life in one of the most free and beautiful places on Earth.

Here we are in the center of the first world
It’s laid out before us, who are we to break down?

Everyday we wake up
We choose Love
We choose light
And we try, it’s too easy just to fall apart

Investigating further, the romantic story of how the Submarines came to be struck a chord as well. Could be an award-winning movie plot a la Once, with this song in the soundtrack.
