Globe and Post: I Like Iggy

Last night, while watching an interview with the new leader of the Liberal party, I saw a calm, pragmatic, reasonable politician talk about the possibility of trying to make this parliament work.

It wasn’t this contrarian jackass, although he was on later.

Michael Ignatieff impressed the hell out of me. I’m very curious to see whether he’s really willing to listen to what Canadians are saying.

In related news, I just noticed a report showing most Canadians actually agreed with Conservative PM Stephen Harper’s move to take all Canadian political parties off the dole, which many agree was the reason the opposition parties chose the nuclear option in the first place. Kind of moot, now… but it at least shows the PM was on the right track policy-wise, even if his timing was stupendously blunderous.
