		<description>I&#039;m no expert, but did live in NYC for 2 years in the early 1990s, and visited a couple times since, including 1 week last fall.

1. I think spring &amp; fall are better than summer, which can be hot &amp; humid.

2. If you&#039;ve never been there, you should spend at least a week. So if you decide on a trip of less than, say, 10 days, then don&#039;t try to hit a second city within that time. If you take 2 weeks you might take the shuttle to Boston or Washington DC -- to me that depends on whether you&#039;ll have a chance to visit those cities in future years.

3. Best place I ate last fall was Itzocan Cafe in East Village: 438 E. Ninth St. (between Ave. A &amp; 1st Ave.)

Mexican-French fusion?! Moderately priced -- not cheap, not expensive.
