That article is a little too optomistic.

http://www.howestreet.com/articles/index.php?article_id=11419

In 1985 we borrowed 45% of our gross salaries and wages to pay for housing. By April of 2009 we borrowed 110%. This of course is an average of our entire country including those without mortgages.

To the bulls and bears, please put aside your emotions. A real estate correction is written into the cards. It's a mathematical must.

There is always an upturn in unemployment in the winter months due to the large number of seasonal jobs in Canada. Don't feed the panic artists!

Maybe some perspective on jobs.
From 1978 - 2008 (30 years)

only years in last 30 that unemployment dropped below 7%
...2000, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
Many young people have never experienced not being able to find a job.

years unemployment was above 9% (predicted high in this recession)
...1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997

and when you look at a graph, a pic being worth a thousand words, this is a time to look at the 21st century as good times IMO
