Most of the frustration is due to Canada's active obstructionism in international talks. While our government talks on occasion like they are ready to take action, we had government officials at Copenhagen deliberately delaying negotiating sessions. So much so, that we were fully left out of the side negotiations which China, US, India, Brazil, SA, and others took in the final day.

UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and most of the arab countries have abysmal environmental and human rights records.

Sure, we can criticize them but as long as Canada and the US remain so fossil fuel centric, all we can do is talk while sending them trillions for their refined oils. (And no, replacing conventional oil supply with dirty crude does not make anything better.)

The same with Iran. As long as they have oil which we buy, there regimes will be propped up protest or not.

On the flip side of that same coin...

Since global warming IS happening in the developed world and IS NOT happening in the developing world, it stands to reason that we are the cause of global warming and therefore we must PAY...through the nose if need be.

Well, first off, global warming ISN'T happening in Dubai or China or India, or any of the developing nations.
Copenhageners say so...
Thats why they are allowed to build coal-fired energy plants,
600 in Chinas case, 200 for India, while we here in Ontario are to close our coal-fired energy plants 4 or 5 I think, because global warming IS happening here.
Just ask Dalton...or just look out the window.

Essentially..It all comes down to this....

If you have global warming where you live, you will NOT be able to build any new or even use any already existing coal-fired energy plants, countries who are NOT experiencing global warming, can build as many as they want.

Does that help clear things up for you?
The science is settled, get with the program man!

The eco warriors complain about Canada because they know our media will eat it up. No one complains about Dubai because no one in Dubai gives a toss about global warming or whatever its called.
