I'm REALLY against putting the Taliban on the dole. REALLY against it.

Canada should stick with funding Harper's vision,
help women and children get and stay healthy.

Let's see now; the Taliban has sneered at the idea of a $2,000 per year entitlement. Suppose we raise that to $5,000 per annum. Afghanistan's population in 2009 was pegged at 28, 150,000.
Now considering that every person in the country will either claim to be Taliban or will rush to joint the Taliban so as to take advantage of this largesse, and every Pashtun in Pakistan will also cross the border and claim to be Taliban, that amounts to a fair chunk of change.
Even if you discount infants (children will claim to be assisting by running errands such as carrying ammunition to the fighters) this amounts to more than the population of Canada. Rather than hand out this welfare, why doesn't the military offer each new recruit an additional $5,000 a year for the rest of their lives. At least that way, we could maybe whittle down the population in Afghanistan to manageable numbers.

From the title of this post, I thought you were talking about McGuinty getting the unions support when he got elected, and now having them come collecting for their support.
