Ludicrous and Buffoonish

Published by at 1:03 pm under Afghanistan,Canada, canadian politics

Certain faculty at the University of Regina have brought shame to their institution in asking for withdrawal of support for the Project Hero scholarship program. From the Canada-Afghanistan Solidarity Committee blog:

There is something perverse in faculty of a university calling for the end of education supports for those whose families have given so much for this country. Even worse, the ludicrous and buffoonish characterization by supposedly educated people that our engagement is a wicked “imperialist” venture calls into question these critics’ abilities as critical thinkers and as educators.

Their uninformed analysis ignores the views of Afghans on the matter, and their extremist, relativist views make a mockery of scholarship. An embarrassment to Canada, they are sending out the message that human rights, security and peace are only for those in the West.

See the original embarrassing statement of the faculty here.

The worst insult of all: candidate Liberal Leader. These “buffoons” seem to be trying out for the position.

The letter from the Canada-Afghanistan Solidarity Committee is incorrect. It assumes that the 16 “professors” from the University of Regina are educators capable of critical thinking. They are not. They are indoctrinators incapable of thinking at all.
Don’t send your kid to U of R. You can do better that this failed institution. Find a real University that still understands its purpose and hires staff accordingly.

Yes agreed wholeheartedly. Our soldiers both men and women don’t need to suffer due to politics. God only knows they do the best they can with weak leadership, poor resources and a lack of understanding regarding what they do from the folks back home. Wars are about politics and politics is about money and power and who has it and who wants it. If you don’t believe that then you are in the wrong business and way in over your head. Let’s not punish soldiers for political gain.

These clowns think kids of fallen soldiers should not be helped out financially while their own offspring get free tuition. How left wing elitest is that??
