The authorities in Switzerland seem to have a soft spot for weirdos who anally rape kids.
I’m not sure what their Justice Minister was thinking. Maybe something along these lines: “It happened such a long time ago. Can’t you prudish Americans just let bygones be bygones? Surely you’ll give some leeway to a great artist. I mean, what was the crime? Why, I just sodomized an underage girl the other day with a rolling pin! In Europe, it’s like a friendly way of saying hello.”
