About Currents

Published by jnarvey

Currents is a Canadian writer’s take on current events, politics and life in Vancouver.

This city is a gateway to the rest of Canada. It’s also an outpost on the Pacific Rim at the edge of the world. Vancouver is a perfect place to observe and write about current events - right here, or out there.

Currents is also a forum for discussion and debate. Social breakdown in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, politics at City Hall, environmental sustainability, multiculturalism, Canada-US relations, Canadian perspectives on hot wars and conflict zones around the globe - It’s all on the table.

Currents has a definite perspective: real-politik pragmatism plus a pure Canadian sense of social justice and an ironic sense of humor. You may not agree with everything you read on Currents. You may even love to hate it. Hopefully, you’ll keep coming back.

Stay a while. Post a comment. Voice your opinion.
